New innovations emerge through LOM ecosystem network

LITEONMOBILE has a smart combination of in-house expertise, top-rated partners and leading vendors as customers. As a result, our products offer a distinctive user experience and an attractive look & feel among other customer benefits.

Process developers, R&D partners, design partners, new technology providers; "two's company, three's a crowd " does not apply here, since eco-partner relations should be created to cover various needs: hardware, software, services and content - design, research, testing, technology or process development, the list goes on.

LOM’s role in the ecosystem is to integrate internal and external resources and capabilities as the vertically integrated (VI) enabler.  Our commodities constantly scan the industry to find the best potential partner candidates, based on our own needs and those of our customers.  They define the area of partnership and ensure technical, quality, logistic and capacity performance. An ecosystem partner is not just a supplier – they bring added value, not just capacity or raw materials.

One example is the Korean company Shell-Line Co., Ltd., a company that develops and manufactures a functional hinge module mechanism for mobile handsets.  Shell-Line expects the eco-partnership with LOM to widen their business opportunities.  They have given their expertise on high- end and mid- class module manufacturing, product development and prototyping, for example.

LOM has great partners in all areas. An example from Metals is an ecosystem for forging products, which combines our partner's know-how in forging and the CNC process with LOM’s decoration and integration capabilities. With this co-operation LOM has added high- quality forging products to its metal offering, and our partner has expanded their business and customer base.

Design services team up

The announcement made in August 2009 of close cooperation with Sasken, one of the world’s biggest d esign service suppliers for mobile device vendors, was an important step forward. LOM Product Design team has been working with Sasken on an officially awarded Joint Research Development (JRD) program since December 2010.

Sasken has been allocating  HW Architect Engineers  to support LOM JRD projects,  and a front-end team has also been set up in Sasken for remote support.

LOM has been utilizing Sasken’s Beijing testing services since the first eJRD project, and for on-going high-end product development projects. As the need arises, Sasken test engineers will be located at LOM Beijing lab to support much heavier testing tasks.
