In early 2010 LITEONMOBILE began a new expansion project in Chennai, India and constructed a new plant in Yantai, Shandong province, China. Both projects are expected to be put into production before the end of this year. Besides this, the new joint venture between LOM and Young Fast will begin its production of touch panel modules in Huizhou, Guangdong province, China this October.
– These new investments are in line with our vertical integration strategy and our operational philosophy of providing integrated customized service in the market, says Mike Wu, Senior Vice President, Global Operations.
The expansion project in India, which began in February, involves the construction of a new workshop and the addition of 60% new production capacity to the Chennai plant. The project includes the construction of production lines for punching, moulding and painting.
Besides the Indian project, a new plant is also being built in Yantai, a coastal city in China’s Shandong province. The new facility has a production floor area of approx. 5,000 square meters and is located in Yantai Economy Technology Development Area.
– The newly added production capacity will help us meet the fast growth of our customer demand in key emerging countries and provide better and quicker services to our customers, adds Mike Wu.
