– This partnership strengthens our capabilities in mechanisms design, technical support and verification services. The most obvious improvement is that now we have 9 experienced R&D designers working on mechanisms product development. Product roadmap creation is ongoing and we will soon be offering a wide selection of innovative mechanism concepts to our customers, says Juha Sepponen , director, BCU Mechanisms.
In addition this partnership, LOM Seoul office will grow to meet the new demands. There will be a new verification laboratory and pilot line for product development. After the new verification laboratory in Seoul opens in Q1 2010, LOM will have verification laboratories in Beijing, Guangzhou and Seoul. Also the cooperation with LOM Seoul office and LOM Beijing Design Office will be deeper than earlier due to this investment in LOM’s mechanisms portfolio.
| – Our manufacturing site in Guangzhou, China has capabilities for the mass production of mechanisms. The first slider module program has just ramped up in there. We also intend to expand our manufacturing capabilities to Chennai, India in 2010. Slider modules and other mechanisms fit into our portfolio perfectly since they utilize our existing metal and plastic manufacturing competencies, says Juha Sepponen. – Complementing the module with our flex PWB subassemblies means that we are able to offer a good vertically integrated package to our customers, adds Juha Sepponen. |
