In September Lite-On Technology was selected as a Member  2011/12 of Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), ranked as the Leading Electronic Component & Equipment Company.

Lite-On not only won the Commonwealth Magazine’s “Corporate Citizenship Award” for five consecutive years but was also awarded 2nd place in the “Most Admired Companies,” in the electronic industry for 2 years in a row. In 2010, Lite-On also won Global Views Monthly’s Five Stars Award of Social Responsibility Award, in the A section for listed tech firms. For Corporate Governance, Lite-On has been ranked grade A in the Institute of Securities & Futures Markets Development’s Information Disclosure Assessment. Lite-On participated in the DJSI evaluation and it was selected as a member in both DJSI-World, and DJSI-Asia for the 1st time. DJSI selected 2,763 leading companies worldwide to participate in the evaluation. Of those 2,763 candidates, just 342 companies were selected as members in 57 sectors, with just one company named as the “Industry Leader” in each sector.  Lite-On was named “Industry Leader” in ELQ, ahead of leading-edge companies from Japan, Korea and France.

Lite-On impressively garnered the highest scores in 13 out of 18 criteria in the ELQ sector, including “Customer Relationship Management” and “Risk & Crisis Management” in the economic dimension, “Climate Strategy”, Environmental Policy/Management System”, “Operational Eco-efficiency”, “Product Stewardship” and “Water Related Risks” in the environmental dimension and “Corporate Citizenship and Philanthropy”, “Human Capital Development”, “Labor Practice Indicators”, “Occupational Health and Safety”, “Standards for Suppliers” and “Talent Attraction & Retention” in the social dimension. Lite-On’s outstanding performance in all of these respects reaffirmed Lite-On’s strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) development for years. Lite-On will continue making steady efforts regarding sustainability performance in all dimensions, working closely with players in the whole supply chain, to the clear benefit of its stakeholders as well as the local and global communities.

About Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI)

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes were launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmarks. The indexes are offered as part of a cooperative effort by the SAM (Sustainable Asset Management) Indexes and Dow Jones Indexes, STOXX. DJSI picks the worldwide top 2,500 companies for the evaluation, tracking their performances in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria and selects the top 10% to be listed as its members. The indexes serve as benchmarks for investors who integrate sustainability considerations into their portfolios, and provide an effective engagement platform for companies who want to adopt sustainable best practices. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes comprise global and regional benchmarks including European, Eurozone, Nordic, North American, US, Asia Pacific, and Korean indexes.
